This is a children's book in Tamil. The text throughout is Tamil, so a reader who does not read the language will not be able to follow it — worth knowing before ordering from outside Sri Lanka.
The work is by Sybil Wettasinghe, the Sri Lankan artist and writer of children's stories. She wrote and published the original in Sinhala; the volume offered here is the Tamil translation of that work, issued under the title Sappaaththu, from the Sinhala Sapaththuwa.
It is published by M. D. Gunasena & Co. (Pvt) Ltd, a Colombo publishing house of long standing whose list includes books for children and school readers in the island's languages.
