Perched on a hilltop just 3 km from the city of Nuwara Eliya and 200 m from the Kandy–Nuwara Eliya highway, Misty Hills is a newly built holiday cottage that pairs the cool, misty air of Sri Lanka's hill country with every modern convenience. Its interior is centred on a sitting area that opens onto a panoramic view of the Kikiliyamana mountain range and its dense green jungle, and on a clear day the peak of Piduruthalagala — the highest point in Sri Lanka — is visible from the property.

The cottage is furnished throughout with brand-new wooden pieces, giving it a warm, unhurried character that suits the mountain setting well.

Accommodation

The upper floor holds four bedrooms, each fitted with a queen-sized bed, quality bed linen, bedside tables with lamps, and teak flooring underfoot. Room heaters take the edge off cool hill-country evenings, and the floor is served by a well-maintained common bathroom with hot water. From the beds themselves, guests look out directly onto the Kikiliyamana mountain range and its surrounding jungle.

Living and Dining Spaces

The living area is arranged around two cushioned sofas, a coffee table, and a TV console equipped with a DVD player, music system, and satellite television. The adjoining dining area features a modern table that seats eight, making the cottage well suited to family gatherings or small groups travelling together.

Kitchen and Food

The kitchenette is fully equipped for self-catering, with a refrigerator, microwave oven, four-burner gas hob, toaster, coffee maker, cookware, and a full set of cutlery and crockery. For guests who prefer not to cook, an experienced cook is available on site and is able to prepare both local and international meals, with provisions supplied by the guests.
