A collection of Sinhala proverbs — prasthāva pirulu, the short fixed sayings that Sinhala speakers reach for when a point needs making briefly. Compiled by P.M. Senarathna and published by M. D. Proverbs of this kind sit at the point where spoken Sinhala and literary Sinhala meet.
