This is a private road transfer between Colombo (CMB) Airport and Ceylon Tea Trails, chartered as a whole vehicle with its own English-speaking chauffeur-guide. Tea Trails is a collection of five restored tea planters' bungalows in the Bogawantalawa valley of Sri Lanka's hill country, near Norwood and about 6.6 km from Hatton Railway Station. The drive covers about 118 km inland from the airport and usually takes 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and the weather on the day.
After a long flight there is nothing to arrange. Your chauffeur-guide meets you in the arrivals lobby, with 60 minutes of free waiting time included, helps with your luggage and drives you straight to the bungalow in a private, air-conditioned vehicle, with 500 ml of bottled water per person on board and our support team on call 24/7. Add your flight number when you book so the pickup is timed to your arrival.
The transfer works in either direction: book it for your arrival, for the drive back to the airport at the end of your stay, or once for each. Choose the vehicle to suit your party and luggage, from a car for one or two travellers up to a mini coach for groups of up to 15. The fare covers the whole vehicle rather than a seat, and it already includes airport entry and parking charges, highway tolls, taxes and service charges.
The fare does not cover extra stops along the way, baby or booster seats, oversized luggage such as surfboards or golf bags, transport for differently-abled passengers, or pets. Your chauffeur chooses the best route on the day, and once you are settled among the tea estates, Adam's Peak and the hill station of Nuwara Eliya are both within reach of the bungalows.
