A children's story in English, following a little girl named Tikiri as she travels around Sri Lanka with her pet dog, Sulu.
The journey is the shape of the book: Tikiri and Sulu go from place to place across the island, and the story moves with them. It is written by Erandathi and Chethana Ellepola.
Readers outside Sri Lanka often look for storybooks that carry something of the country itself rather than a generic setting, and this is one written locally, in English, with a Sri Lankan child at its centre and the island as the ground she covers. Families with a connection to Sri Lanka may find it a useful way to put familiar names and places into a story a child will sit still for.
