Über dieses Erlebnis

The Lakshapana Waterfall Rope Jump is a guided rope jump beside Lakshapana Falls, one of the tall waterfalls of Sri Lanka's hill country. You step off a secure platform on the rock near the falls, harnessed to a rope system, and swing out through the open air above the gorge with the white column of water beside you.

Lakshapana Falls lies in the Maskeliya area of Nuwara Eliya District, near the village of Kiriwan Eliya, where the Maskeliya Oya drops over a rock face into a forested valley. The river goes on to join the Kehelgamu Oya, and together they form the Kelani River. The falls also lend their name to the Old and New Laxapana hydroelectric power stations nearby.

Before anyone jumps, experienced guides give a detailed safety briefing and fit each participant with the gear the jump requires: a helmet, a harness and the rope that holds you. Professional instructors guide you through each step, and once you are ready you take the leap and swing out over the valley, with the sound of the falls around you.

All the safety equipment needed for the jump, guidance from professional instructors, and all taxes and service charges are included. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included, so you make your own way to the site, and gratuities and expenses of a personal nature are also excluded. The dry season is the best time for the jump.
