Ab€3.58

Fotografie · KI-optimiert

Dumbara Unduwel, eight crisp coils of fried batter soaked in kithul treacle. Dumbara makes the batter from undu (urad bean) flour and rice flour, lets it ferment, pipes it into coils, fries them in coconut oil and then dips them in kithul treacle until they soak it up.

Unduwel, also called pani walalu, is a sweet found only in Sri Lanka. It is crunchy outside and syrupy inside, and is a favourite at Avurudu, the Sinhala and Tamil New Year.
