Question 1

How far is Walisara from Colombo Airport?

Accepted Answer

Walisara is approximately 10 to 15 km from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB) by road, depending on the exact route taken. Question 2

What is Walisara known for in Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

Walisara is a quiet residential and commercial town in the Gampaha District, valued primarily for its location rather than specific attractions. Question 3

Is Walisara a good base for exploring Sri Lanka?

Accepted Answer

Walisara works well as a transit base rather than an exploration hub. Its main advantage is fast access to the airport and the northern coastal road toward Negombo. Travellers wanting to explore the Cultural Triangle, hill country, or the southern coast will generally move on from Walisara within a day or two.

Question 4

What is the drive time from Walisara to Colombo?

Accepted Answer

The road distance is around 26 km, and the journey typically takes 45 to 60 minutes depending on time of day and traffic on the coastal highway. Morning and evening rush hours in the greater Colombo area can extend this noticeably.
