Mithuna and Simha Porondam

KI-generiertes Bild · keine echte Fotografie

This page explains how Mithuna (Gemini) and Simha (Leo) compare in Sri Lankan marriage matching, both in Sinhala porondam and Tamil porutham. Here the rashi is the moon sign (chandra rashi) in the sidereal zodiac used in Sri Lanka, not the sun sign printed in newspapers. The rashi-level results are only a starting point, because the birth stars decide the real match.

How does the rashi count work for Mithuna and Simha?

The rashi count is taken from the bride's sign to the groom's sign, counting both. When the bride is Mithuna and the groom is Simha, the count is 3. In Sinhala porondam, rashi porondam is partly obtained for this count, while in Tamil porutham, rasi porutham is not obtained.

When the bride is Simha and the groom is Mithuna, the count becomes 11. Here rashi porondam is obtained in the Sinhala system and rasi porutham is obtained in the Tamil system. This is a clear example of why the direction matters: the same two signs give different rashi results depending on which partner holds which sign.

Are the rashi lords Mercury and the Sun on good terms?

Mithuna is ruled by Mercury and Simha by the Sun. In the traditional table of planetary relationships, the pairing is described as friend and neutral: one lord regards the other as a friend, while the other regards it as neutral rather than unfriendly.

For this pair, the calculator treats that relationship as sufficient in both directions. Rashyadhipathi porondam in the Sinhala system and rasi adhipathi porutham in the Tamil system are obtained whether the bride is Mithuna or Simha. This is one of the steadier features of the Mithuna and Simha pairing, as it does not change when the signs are swapped.

What does the vashya result mean for this pair?

Vashya looks at whether one sign is traditionally listed as being drawn towards, or in harmony with, the other. Each rashi has particular signs named as its vashya, and Mithuna and Simha are not named for each other in that list.

As a result, vashya porondam in the Sinhala system and vasya porutham in the Tamil system are not obtained in either direction. This should be read calmly. Vashya is only one item among several, and in both traditions the overall assessment rests far more on the two birth stars than on any single rashi-level item. A family astrologer will always weigh it alongside the full picture.

Why do the birth stars decide the real match?

Mithuna and Simha each contain parts of several nakshatras, so a couple with these moon signs can have 81 possible star-quarter combinations. The outcomes vary widely between them.

With a Mithuna bride and a Simha groom, none of the 81 combinations reach 8 of 10 porutham, 59% fall into the weaker Tamil range, and 77% pass Sinhala porondam when the weekday item is set aside. With a Simha bride and a Mithuna groom, 15% reach 8 of 10 porutham, 30% are in the weaker Tamil range, and every combination passes Sinhala porondam excluding the weekday. In both directions, none show a Tamil rajju clash. Only the actual birth stars can show where a couple sits.
