Particularly good places to see it include the roadways of the North Central Province, urban parks in Colombo and Kandy, and the ancient city area of Polonnaruwa, where mature trees line temple grounds and courtyards.

Question 6

Is Delonix regia the same as the flamboyant tree?

The seeds of Delonix regia contain compounds including lectins that can be harmful if ingested without proper preparation. While the tree is safe to be around in normal circumstances, consuming any part of it — especially the seeds — without guidance from a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner is not recommended.
