Opata Estate

Situated on the outskirts of Ratnapura, the city of gems, the Opata Estate is surrounded by the mystical peak wilderness of the Babarabotuva mountain range which forms the foothill of the Adam’s Peak and the Buluthota Rakwana range which borders the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. Spread across 400 hectares of land with the elevation ranging from 180 metres to 380 meters, Opata Estate cultivates tea and rubber in great extents with smaller patches of cinnamon and coconut. The estate houses a processing centre which has a manufacturing capacity of 14,500 kilogrammes of green leaf per day.
