The Rock Fortress which is the common term given to Sigiriya is found near the town of Dambulla and is located about 175 km away from Colombo and about 145 km away from the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake. The easiest route is via Kurunegala while you can also reach the destination via Kandy. Taxi services are available from the airport while public transport options include buses that arrive to Habarana on a regular basis.
Such a lovely hotel in the forest! We were one of the few guests there, so were very lucky! Spacious rooms, friendly staff, nice food, great pool and amazing surroundings full of wild life 🙂 Highly recommend this
