Hideaway Resort is a family-owned heritage property set in six acres of tropical gardens close to the beach in Arugam Bay, originally built in 1979 as the Tissera family holiday home and still managed by siblings Jan and Sharon Tissera. Accommodation comprises 14 rooms in total - five rooms in the original main villa and nine private bungalows - furnished in a rustic tropical style with semi-open bathrooms and private verandas. Facilities include a swimming pool, a yoga shala offering daily classes, a treatment centre for Ayurvedic massages, an on-site restaurant and cafe, and a bar (the Hide & Chill Bar). The property is located across the road from Arugam Bay's crescent-shaped beach, within easy reach of the area's well-known surf breaks.
