About this experience
On the night of 24 August 2026, take your reserved seat and watch the 2nd Randoli Perahera wind through the streets of Kandy. The Sacred Tooth Relic travels atop a magnificently adorned elephant, flanked by Kandyan dancers in elaborate costume, bare-footed drummers, fire-dancers, and acrobats. For three hours, torchlight and percussion fill the city as the procession honours both royal tradition and Buddhist faith, with prayers offered at the Temple of the Tooth marking the spiritual heart of the evening.
Your ticket covers the admission fee and a private seat — so you watch in comfort rather than jostling for a pavement spot among the crowds. Note that a personal guide, food, and drinks are not included, so come prepared. Participants must be aged 12 or over. Lakpura arranges the entry and seating; the rest of the night belongs to one of Sri Lanka's most vivid living traditions.
