Kumbha and Kumbha Porondam

When a bride and groom share the same rashi, Kumbha (Aquarius), several rashi-level items line up neatly, while one is not obtained. This page explains what the Lakpura calculator finds for this pairing in both Sinhala porondam and Tamil porutham. It also shows why the two birth stars, not the rashi alone, decide how well a match truly reads.

Which Kumbha does this page mean?

Here, Kumbha is the moon sign (chandra rashi), worked out in the sidereal zodiac used in Sri Lanka. It is not the sun sign printed in newspaper horoscope columns, so someone who calls themselves Aquarius in Western astrology may have a different moon sign altogether.

Because both partners are Kumbha, the usual two-way check is simple. Normally the calculator looks at the bride in one sign and the groom in the other, then the reverse. With the same sign on both sides, the two directions are identical, so every rashi-level result below applies whichever way round you read it.

What do the rashi and rashi lord results show?

The rashi count from bride to groom is 1, meaning the groom's moon sign is the same sign as the bride's. In both the Sinhala rashi check and the Tamil rasi check, the calculator marks this as obtained.

The rashi lord of Kumbha is Saturn. Since both partners share the sign, both share the lord, and the relationship is simply the same planet. The Sinhala rashyadhipathi and Tamil rasi adhipathi items are therefore both obtained. Sharing a ruling planet is treated as a harmonious link, so on these two points the Sinhala and Tamil systems agree fully for this pairing.

Why is vashya not obtained for this pair?

Vashya is judged from a traditional table that pairs certain signs together. For two Kumbha partners, the calculator records vashya in Sinhala porondam and vasya in Tamil porutham as not obtained, in both directions.

It helps to keep this in proportion. Vashya is one item among many, and a full reading weighs it alongside the star-based checks, which carry much of the overall picture. A single item that is not obtained does not settle a match on its own. Families usually look at the complete set of results together, and an experienced astrologer will consider how the items balance across both birth charts before forming any view.

Why do the birth stars matter more than the rashi?

The real match is decided by each person's birth star (nakshatra) and its quarter. For two Kumbha partners there are 81 possible star-quarter combinations, and the outcomes vary widely between them.

Across those combinations, about 10% reach 8 of 10 Tamil porutham, while around 43% read as weak in the Tamil system and roughly 36% show a Tamil rajju clash. On the Sinhala side, about 64% pass porondam when the weekday item is left aside. The same rashi pairing can therefore produce very different results. Use the calculator with full birth details, and for marriage decisions, consult your family astrologer.
