Allow about an hour each way for Horton Plains National Park and the walk to World's End, and just under an hour for Devon Falls on the road towards Hatton.
Nuwara Eliya is high in the central hills, a long drive up from Bandaranaike International Airport through the tea country. The simplest way to arrive is a private transfer from Colombo airport to Araliya Green Hills, which takes you all the way to the door. By train, the nearest station on the hill-country line is Nanu Oya, about 3 kilometres away in a straight line.
It suits couples and families who want a comfortable, central hotel with a heated pool, within walking distance of the town and the lake.
