About this experience
Set off from Talpe in a private, air-conditioned vehicle with your English-speaking chauffeur guide for the drive south to Bundala National Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, an Important Bird Area recognised by BirdLife International, and Sri Lanka's first Ramsar wetland site. The full excursion runs seven hours, with a minimum age of five, so it suits most families.
At the park, swap into a dedicated safari jeep and spend three hours scanning the lagoons and scrubland with your English-speaking safari driver, who doubles as your tracker. Hotel pickup and drop-off from Talpe, a per-person water bottle, and all in-vehicle transport are included. Entrance tickets to Bundala National Park, food, and drinks are not included and should be budgeted separately. Gratuities are optional.
