About this experience
Board a private, air-conditioned vehicle at your Habarana hotel and head to Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's largest national park, famous for its villus (natural lakes) and dense scrub forest. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide handles the drive, so you arrive ready to scan the treeline. Inside the park, a private guided jeep safari puts you directly into leopard territory, alongside sloth bears, spotted deer, mugger crocodiles, and a wealth of endemic birds — each spotted within their natural habitat.
The full-day excursion runs eight hours and is private throughout, meaning the jeep is yours alone. A one-litre water bottle per person is provided. Hotel drop-off is included at the end of the day. Entrance tickets, meals, and gratuities are arranged separately. Minimum age for this tour is five years.

Much better than expected
We (a group of 4 adults) know that wild animals do not show up on command. This, combined with the fact that one of us is a photographer and has experience from safari in Africa, was the reason we had booked both a full-…

Amazing wildlife, but questionable ticketing experience
Overall, a great park experience - we saw a leopard, Sri Lanka junglefowl, deer, a falcon, even a small bear, and plenty of buffalo. Worth visiting.
But the ticketing felt like a scam. We were charged full foreigner rat…
