About this experience
You enter Hurulu Eco Park and the track narrows almost immediately — dense dry-zone shrubland pressing in on either side, the canopy closing overhead. This is evergreen wilderness where Sri Lankan elephants are the undisputed centrepiece, moving between the trees and gathering at the Hurulu Wewa reservoir at the park's heart. The same terrain that shelters elephants also conceals leopards and rusty-spotted cats in the thick understorey, while star tortoises cross the red-dirt tracks and jungle fowl, parrots and hawks work the canopy above. Your driver is also your tracker: engine off, windows down, reading the forest. Across roughly 15 kilometres of in-park driving over a three-hour safari, the park keeps revealing new layers.
Your jeep is private — one to six guests, no strangers sharing the vehicle. At booking you choose how to handle park entrance tickets: pay at the gate yourself (jeep-only), or have Lakpura include them so you arrive without the queue. On top of either option, you can add a professional guide who rides with your group, turning each sighting into a proper briefing on what you are actually looking at. Complimentary pick-up and drop-off is included for any location within five kilometres of the park gate.
