One of the Little Heroes Series, a set of children's books written in English by M. D. Gunasena & Co. to introduce good conduct to young readers through stories rather than instruction. The series is built on a simple idea: that values are easier for a small child to take in when they arrive inside a story they enjoy.
This title takes honesty as its subject. It is pitched at children in the early reading years — the language is kept plain, and the storytelling light enough to hold a young listener's attention when read aloud.
M. D. Gunasena is a long-established Sri Lankan publisher and bookseller, with a list that covers schoolbooks, general reading and children's titles in both Sinhala and English. Books of this kind are widely used in Sri Lankan homes and classrooms as early English reading material, where the story carries the lesson and the vocabulary stays within reach of a beginner.
Suitable for reading aloud to pre-schoolers, or for independent reading by children starting out in English.
