About this experience
The swing at Ambuluwawa hangs out over the hills above Kandy, at the Ambuluwawa Biodiversity Complex crowned by the Ambuluwawa Tower. From the platform the ground drops away into a valley of rolling hills and dense green, so every push carries you out over open air rather than a field. It is a short, sharp piece of adventure with a very long view attached, and the setting does half the work: hills in every direction, wind moving through the trees, the tower above you.
You start with a safety briefing from a trained instructor, who fits your harness and checks the safety ropes before you go anywhere. Then you step onto the swing platform, with the hills and greenery spread out in front of you, and let go. The swing carries you high above the valley, and the view opens across Kandy and the surrounding ridges on each arc. It is the obvious moment for photographs, and you can add a photographer, a videographer or drone footage, or book the sunset swing for lower, warmer light.
Your booking covers the swing itself with harness, safety ropes, instructor guidance and life insurance; food, drinks and transport to the starting point are your own. The whole thing runs 30 minutes and takes 1 to 6 guests, with instant confirmation on booking. Operating hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
