SLADC Sharibadyasawaya is a traditional fermented herbal liquid led by sariba, Indian sarsaparilla (Hemidesmus indicus, iramusu). The corporation lists, among its ingredients, Trachyspermum involucratum (asamodagam), red sandalwood (Pterocarpus santalinus, rath handun), amla (Phyllanthus emblica, nelli), grapes (Vitis vinifera, muddarappalam) and the flowers of the fire-flame bush (Woodfordia fruticosa, malitha mal).
As the liquid ferments it forms a small amount of natural alcohol, 5 to 6 percent by the maker's figure. Bottles come in 375 ml and 750 ml.
The Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation (SLADC) is Sri Lanka’s state-owned maker of Ayurvedic medicines, at Navinna in Maharagama since 1969. Ask a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before use.
