SLADC Amurtharishtaya is a traditional fermented herbal liquid whose name comes from amurtha, the classical name for heart-leaved moonseed. Fermentation produces a small amount of natural alcohol, 5 to 8 percent by the corporation's figure.
Among its ingredients are heart-leaved moonseed (Tinospora cordifolia, rasakinda), cumin (Cuminum cyminum, suduru), yellow-berried nightshade (Solanum xanthocarpum, katuwelbatu), eggplant (Solanum melongena, elabatu), nut grass (Cyperus rotundus, kalanduru) and kutki (Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora, katukarosana). It is sold in 375 ml and 750 ml bottles.
The Sri Lanka Ayurvedic Drugs Corporation (SLADC) is Sri Lanka’s state-owned maker of Ayurvedic medicines, at Navinna in Maharagama since 1969. Ask a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner before use.
