This is the Sinhala edition of The Last Kingdom of Sinhalay by Captain Elmo Jayawardena, translated by Premasiri Mahingoda. The whole text is in Sinhala, so an international buyer should order it only if they or the intended reader read the language; the original was written in English and published under its own title.
The book takes as its subject the Kandyan era — the last of the island's kingdoms, and the one that ended Sinhala royal rule. Jayawardena writes about that period and the people in it; Mahingoda's translation carries the work into the language of the country it describes.
Jayawardena is a Sri Lankan writer who works in English, and his rank comes from a career flying commercial aircraft. The translation is published in Colombo by M. D. Gunasena & Co., a long-established Sri Lankan house publishing in Sinhala and English.
