About this experience
Climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock fortress — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — and take in the ancient frescoes and landscaped gardens that King Kashyapa carved into the sky over 1,500 years ago. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide collects you and drives you there in an air-conditioned vehicle, giving context to every terrace and water garden you pass on the ascent.
After Sigiriya, step into a rural Sri Lankan village where traditional life carries on as it always has — watch local craftspeople at work, then sit down to a home-cooked lunch. The day ends at Minneriya National Park, where you transfer to a safari jeep and scan the reservoir banks for wild elephants, deer, and birds. Two 500 ml water bottles per person are included. Entrance tickets to Sigiriya Rock, the village tour, and Minneriya are paid separately. This is a private, 11-hour tour with a minimum age of 5.
