About this experience
Step into a private, air-conditioned vehicle and head out from Sigiriya on this 9-hour tour of Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka's ancient capital and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. An English-speaking driver accompanies you to the sacred sites, where you walk among pagodas, monastic ruins, and tranquil reservoirs that once formed the heart of a civilisation spanning over a millennium. Highlights include Sri Maha Bodhi — one of the oldest documented trees on earth — and Thuparamaya, the island's first dagoba. Two 500 ml bottles of water per person are included to keep you refreshed along the way.
Note that entrance tickets (USD 30 per person), food, beverages, and the services of a local guide are not included in the tour price and are arranged separately on the day. This is a private tour, so the itinerary runs entirely at your group's pace. Lakpura arranges hotel pickup and drop-off from Sigiriya, making the day straightforward from start to finish.
