A collection of short stories in Sinhala by P.D. Liyanage, issued by M.D. Gunasena & Co. of Colombo as part of its Lihini Poth line. The text is entirely in Sinhala, with no English translation, so it will suit readers who read the language comfortably.
Lihini Poth was a popular series of small books in its day, and the publisher has brought it back in a new shape and rhythm in response to readers who asked for it. Prema Yuddhaya belongs to that revived line.
For Sinhala readers abroad, short story collections of this kind are among the harder things to find outside Sri Lanka, and the Lihini Poth format carries an association that many who grew up reading in Sinhala will recognise at once. Readers building a shelf of contemporary Sinhala fiction, or returning to a series they remember, will know where this one sits.
