A collection of short stories in Sinhala by Simon Nawagaththegama, issued by M. D. Gunasena under its Lihini Poth imprint. The whole book is in Sinhala — there is no English text in it — so it will suit readers who are comfortable in the language, and buyers abroad should expect the same.
The Lihini Poth series was widely read in its day, and this title appears as part of the publisher's revival of it, reset in a new format and presentation in response to readers asking for the books again. The stories themselves are gathered here under the title Ohuge Kathawa.
Nawagaththegama is a familiar name in modern Sinhala writing, working across fiction and drama, and his short stories sit among the material most often sought out by Sinhala readers of that generation. For anyone building a shelf of twentieth-century Sinhala fiction, or returning to the Lihini Poth books remembered from earlier reading, this is a straightforward paperback edition from a long-established Colombo publisher.
