A colouring book for young children, built around big, bold black line drawings that are easy for small hands to work with. The pictures cover friendly animals, fruits, birds and more besides, each one given its own page.
What sets it apart from a plain colouring book is the set of sticker pages bound into the centre. These show the same images again, this time in bright, vivid colour. Following the simple instructions printed on the back cover, a child matches each sticker to its picture and pastes it onto the small version at the top of the colouring page. That coloured sticker then acts as a guide for filling in the large drawing below it.
The method gives a young child something to aim at rather than a blank outline, and turns the colouring into a matching exercise as well. Along the way it gives practice in recognising colours and in sitting with a task from start to finish — the kind of activity a parent can set up quickly and a child can get on with.
