Mlesna Vanilla Tea is a flavoured Ceylon tea from one of Colombo's long-established tea houses, packed as 10 luxury tea bags in a small carton. It is a neat, pocketable way to try a Mlesna flavoured tea, to tuck into a hamper, or to keep a few cups of something a little different in the cupboard.
The side panel of the carton describes it plainly: garden fresh fine Ceylon tea processed with natural flavour extracts, to give an aromatic tea that the maker calls delightful and crisp. The front shows an illustrated vanilla sachet with the words An Exotic Tea, set beside a cup of amber tea in a gold-rimmed cup.
Mlesna lists this pack as Vanilla Tea in the Luxury Foil Envelope format, 10 tea bags with a total of 20g of tea. Each bag comes in its own foil envelope, which keeps the bags separate and makes them easy to carry or share one at a time.
The Mlesna brand was launched in 1983 by Euro-Scan Exports (Pvt) Ltd of Colombo, and is known for flavoured and blended Ceylon teas in gift packaging. The same Vanilla Tea is also sold by the maker as loose leaf in larger packs; this carton is the tea-bag version.
