Kēsha Classic is a herbal hair oil from Link Natural Products, a Sri Lankan manufacturer that has been making herbal and pharmaceutical preparations since 1982. The Classic variant carries the 'Extra Rich Formula' designation and sits at the heart of the Kēsha range, which Link Natural first brought to the Sri Lankan market in 1997. The oil is registered at the Department of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka, and is made by a company certified to HACCP, ISO 14001 and GMP standards — a level of quality infrastructure that is relatively uncommon in the herbal oil category.
The formula is built on a coconut oil base and draws on a selection of botanicals confirmed on the current packaging: Carex species, Alternanthera sessilis, Albizia fastigiata, and Phyllanthus emblica, alongside Natural Vitamin E. The combination of a traditional Ayurvedic ingredient framework with systematic quality control — applied from the authentication of raw plant material through to the finished product — is what distinguishes Kēsha Classic from more loosely specified herbal oils. The oil is produced at Link Natural's factory in Kapugoda, Sri Lanka.
Kēsha Classic is positioned within Ayurvedic hair care methodology, where applying oil to the scalp and hair after bathing is considered an important part of a daily routine. The directions on the packaging are straightforward: apply the oil directly to the scalp and hair, then massage gently. That simplicity reflects the traditional approach the product draws on.
The oil is available in two sizes: a 50 ml pack, which is useful as a way to try the product before committing to a larger quantity, and a 100 ml pack for regular use. Both are presented in firm carton boxes. The 100 ml size also comes as a green glass bottle with a dark green cap, enclosed in its box. Link Natural introduced the 50 ml size when the Kēsha range was relaunched in October 2019, alongside a second variant, Kēsha Lite, which is a lighter, non-sticky oil intended for daytime use outdoors — a useful distinction if you are comparing the two.
