Kaishora Guggulu is a classical polyherbal compound from the Ayurvedic tradition, formulated according to recipes codified in texts such as the Sharangdhara Samhita and the Bhaishajya Ratnavali. Link Natural Products, a Sri Lankan manufacturer with roots going back to 1982, produces this preparation as part of its registered Ayurvedic pharmaceutical range — each batch carrying a Sri Lankan Ayurveda registration number and labelled with manufactured date, expiry, and lot information in keeping with local regulatory requirements.
The formulation is built around Shuddha Guggulu, the purified resin of the Indian bdellium tree, which acts as the foundational ingredient and gives the guggulu class of preparations its name. Surrounding that core is the Triphala combination of three fruits — Amalaki (Indian gooseberry), Bibhitaki (belleric myrobalan), and Haritaki (chebulic myrobalan) — alongside the three-pungent Trikatu group of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper. The formulation is further rounded out with false black pepper (Embelia ribes) and additional classical herbs. The result is a small, dark round tablet, known in Sanskrit as a gulika.
The tablets arrive in a clear zip-lock outer bag enclosing a green-wrapped inner packet. Within that inner layer, the pills are held in a polypropylene zip-lock bag — practical packaging that keeps the preparation dry and makes portion management straightforward. The 100 g retail pack contains inner bags of 10 g each, and a 1 kg option is available for those who require a larger quantity.
Link Natural's Ayurvedic pharmaceuticals are distributed through Ayurveda pharmacies and qualified practitioners across Sri Lanka, and the company manufactures from its premises at 199, Kew Road, Colombo 02. As with any registered Ayurvedic medicine, Kaishora Guggulu is intended to be taken under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic physician, who can advise on appropriate use for the individual.
