About this experience
Lace up your boots and head into the Knuckles mountain range on this private, full-day hike from Kandy to the peak of Kehelpothdoruwegala. Your English-speaking guide leads you up grassy golden slopes where panoramic ridge views open up with every metre gained. Pass cattle grazing on the hillside, spot other wildlife along the trail, and stand beside Yahangala Rock at the summit for sweeping photographs of the landscapes below. The tour runs roughly 12 hours door to door, with a first-aid kit and safety gear carried throughout. Minimum age is 12.
Your air-conditioned vehicle handles all road transfers to and from the trailhead. Lakpura includes two litres of bottled mineral water per person and energy snacks to keep you fuelled on the ascent. On the way back, cool off with a refreshing dip in a natural pool. Meals and personal expenses are not covered, so bring local currency for a stop along the way.
