About this experience
Climb onto the jet ski and set off from the northern edge of Bolgoda Lake, one of Sri Lanka's largest natural lakes sitting just south of Colombo. Over two hours, you ride south along the river channel, the waterway opening up as you push into the calm, untouched expanse of the southern lake — a narrow, shallow stretch that remains largely inaccessible and free from development. The waters are home to diverse fish species, reptiles, and the elusive saltwater crocodile, while rare and migratory birds line the banks. A knowledgeable naturalist guides you throughout, sharing insights into the lake's rich biodiversity. A water bottle per person is included.
This is a private activity — the jet ski is yours alone, with no shared groups or waiting around. The tour runs from November to March. Participants must be 18 or over; it is not suitable for those with back problems, serious medical conditions, or expectant mothers. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are not included, so arrange your own transfer to the Bolgoda Lake departure point. Lakpura handles the jet ski, the guide, and the experience.
