Harischandra Aththora Soap is a wrapped herbal toilet soap made by Harischandra Mills of Matara in Sri Lanka. It is sold here as a single 70g bar.
Aththora, known botanically as Cassia alata, is the plant that gives the soap its name. The bar carries both an Aththora extract and an Aththora perfume, set in a soap base made from palm oil.
Each bar comes in a green paper wrapper swept with yellow bands and printed with large green leaves, with the brown Harischandra emblem in one corner. The name is printed in Sinhala on one face and in English on the other, with Tamil along the side, and the end flap carries manufacture and expiry dates and a batch code.
The soap is manufactured and distributed by Harischandra Mills PLC in Matara. Alongside its toilet, laundry and blue soaps, the company makes rice flour, noodles and coffee.
