Garnered from the reflections of a centenarian born in 1916, ‘GNANAM:
Timeless Wisdom’ explores her impressions of community, kinshi, custom and caste in old Jaffna, and evolves into her reflections on life in a modern independent nation.
The narrative while offering nuggets of wisdom and cultural transmission, gives transformative insights into one way of life, at home and in the world. Insights are drawn from a personal history that stretches from a purely Tamil past, through uncharted waters, to uncover vast silence in our collective memory of the recent tumultuous history of Sri Lanka
