About this experience
Follow the legacy of Sri Lanka's most celebrated architect across 12 days on a private tour curated by Lakpura. You travel in a private vehicle — fuel, parking, and highway tolls all covered — with an English-speaking chauffeur guide at your side throughout. The journey takes you to Lunuganga Estate, Bawa's personal country retreat set among mangrove gardens on the banks of Dedduwa Lake, and on to the UNESCO-listed old city of Galle, where colonial-era cobblestones and Dutch ramparts frame the streetscape he so admired.
This is a private activity, open to guests aged five and above, delivered in English. Hotel accommodation, airfare, entrance fees, and personal expenses are arranged separately. Itinerary days are structured, so every stop reflects a considered aspect of Bawa's architectural and landscape vision — from tropical modernism to the interplay of water, light, and stone that defined his life's work.
