Gampaha Wickramarachchi Haridra Paniya is a bottled preparation from the Gampaha Wickramarachchi range of Sri Lankan Ayurvedic products. Its name comes from haridra, the Sanskrit word for turmeric.
The maker is Gampaha Wickramarachchi Siddhayurveda Aushada Company of Yakkala, a family business that has passed through four generations. Its founder, Pandit G. P. Wickramarachchi, was the Ayurvedic physician who established the Gampaha Siddhayurveda Vidyalaya, the college that later became a university of indigenous medicine bearing his name.
The company runs the whole chain itself, from herbs grown on its own plantations through to manufacture, dispensaries and distribution. Haridra Paniya is offered here as a traditional preparation, not as a medicine.
