A colouring book for young children, published in English by M. D. Gunasena & Co. of Colombo. The pages carry simple illustrations drawn to be coloured in, with early learning concepts introduced through the activity itself rather than through text exercises.
The approach is straightforward: uncomplicated line drawings, plenty of open space, and subjects clear enough for small hands to work on without help. The publisher describes it as suited both to a child colouring alone and to an adult sitting alongside, which makes it as much a shared activity as a solo one.
It belongs to a series of companion colouring books from the same publisher:
- Cool Colouring
- Kiddy Colouring
- Happy Colouring
- Funny Colouring
- Free Colouring
- My Colouring
Each follows the same idea, so they can be bought singly or collected. M. D. Gunasena is an established Colombo publisher producing books in Sinhala and English, including a steady line of children's and school material.
Useful for parents and teachers of pre-school and early primary children, and for anyone putting together activity material for a classroom or a long quiet afternoon at home.
