About this experience
Cycle out from Haputale and climb through tea country to Lipton's Seat, the hilltop where Sir Thomas Lipton once surveyed his estates. On a clear day you can see five of Sri Lanka's nine provinces from this single vantage point — one sweeping panorama of ridges, valleys and tea bushes rolling to the horizon. Expect rolling gradients and cool hill-country air rather than flat tarmac as the route winds through working plantations. This is a private, four-hour ride suited to guests aged seven and above.
Lakpura provides a high-end bike, helmet and bottle of water, plus an experienced guide, first-aid kit and spares for the whole ride. Transport to and from the starting point is included. Gratuities and any food or drink beyond the included water are your own expense. Pedal at your own pace and take in the tea estates that made Ceylon Tea famous.
