A children's story in Sinhala, written by Hayanthi Manorima and published in Colombo by M. D. Gunasena & Co. There is no English text, so a reader will need Sinhala to follow it.

At its centre is a headstrong, stubborn little girl and her closest companion, her grandmother. The grandmother bears a great deal of mischief with patience, guiding the child with affection rather than scolding. She works on the girl's stubbornness by indirect means, with kindness and love, and leaves her room to grow and to learn in her own way. A pet bird, Kuku, shares in the story alongside them.

The themes the book holds to are love, kindness and staying close to one another, set out for young readers through the household the girl and her grandmother share.

Of interest to Sinhala-speaking families abroad looking for reading material for children at home, and to parents who want their children reading stories in Sinhala rather than only in English.
