Giniraja is an Ayurvedic herbal oil from Chandanalepa, one of Sri Lanka's oldest and most established Ayurvedic producers, made at Sanjeewaka Ayurvedic Products (Pvt) Ltd in Veyangoda, Gampaha District. The current formulation carries the mark නව — new — on its label, signalling a reformulated blend that follows the same tradition the brand has maintained since its origins in the 1940s. It is approved by the Department of Ayurveda, Sri Lanka, under registration number AYP/01/23, and is produced exclusively for external use.
The oil is described on pack as a traditional, precious Sri Lankan Hela medicine: 'පාරම්පරික අනගි හෙළ ඖෂධකි'. Its composition, as stated on the current packaging, brings together a range of plant roots and botanicals — Morinda citrifolia root, Pashionaka phorhizha root, Lasia root, and Mammosa (linn) root — alongside Moringa (Murunga), Nigella Sativa, Alpinia and Zingiber (Ginger), and Allium sativum (Garlic). These are combined with Sesame and Coconut as carrier bases, then finished with essential oils of Menthol, Eucalyptus, Clove, Camphor, and Bonemyrrh.
