About this experience

Set off from Galle in a private, air-conditioned vehicle as Lakpura transfers you south-east to Bundala National Park — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a Birdlife International Important Bird Area, and Sri Lanka's first Ramsar wetland site. Your English-speaking driver handles the road so you can watch the coastal scrubland shift into lagoon-fringed wilderness. The full excursion runs seven hours, and the minimum age is five, making it a straightforward family-friendly day trip.

At the park, you board a jeep for a dedicated safari through Bundala's mosaic of lagoons and thorny jungle.
