Ground turmeric from Bowatte, in a 100 g pack. The powder is made from the dried root of Curcuma longa and has a deep yellow colour and a warm, earthy, slightly bitter taste.
How it is used
Turmeric is a staple of Sri Lankan and South Indian cooking. It is added to curries, dhal, stews and rice for colour and flavour, and goes into homemade curry powders and marinades. A little is enough to colour a whole pot.

Storage
Keep the pack closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Turmeric stains cloth and worktops, so wipe up spills straight away.
