Bluefield Tea Dust No 01 is pure Ceylon black tea in the dust grade, packed in a 500g box. Dust is the finest of the black tea grades, made up of the smallest particles left once the leaf has been processed and sorted.
The box is printed with the words Pure Ceylon and Black Tea, marked Dust 1, and carries the line Produced by the hands of Traditional Tea Makers. The front panel sits within a purple floral print and states a nett weight of 500g.
Bluefield Tea Gardens runs its factory at Ramboda, on the road that climbs from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya in the central hills. The factory keeps its doors open to visitors, who can walk through the machinery that turns freshly plucked leaf into finished Ceylon tea and taste the teas made there.
The maker lists its Dust No 1 as a BOP graded dust, made from broken leaf rather than whole leaf. Bluefield packs the same grade in several sizes, and this is the 500g box.
