Language policy remains a critical yet often overlooked dimension of multicultural education systems. This work examines bilingual education in Jaffna through a sociocultural lens, exploring how implicit language policies shape learning environments even when explicit policies are absent. The study addresses fundamental questions about why language policy matters and how it influences educational practice in diverse communities.
