Basilur's Magic Nights is a loose-leaf Ceylon black tea blended with natural cranberry fruit pieces, cornflower, blue malva, and natural flavours of strawberry, apricot, pineapple and papaya. It sits within Basilur's Oriental Collection, a range whose name and visual identity draw on the world of One Thousand and One Nights. The result is a cup that is bright in colour, with a mild, fruity character and a captivating fruit-forward aroma.
The tea itself is 100% pure Ceylon black leaf tea, grown and processed in Sri Lanka — the island that gave the world its most recognised origin-specific tea. The fruit pieces and natural flavourings woven through the blend soften the straightforward character of the black tea base and give each brew a gentle, layered fragrance. The packaging carries an 'All Natural' declaration, in keeping with the use of natural fruit and natural flavourings throughout the blend.
One hundred grams of loose-leaf tea is sealed inside a foil zipper-lock pouch before being placed inside the decorative metal tin caddy. The caddy itself is finished in a deep navy blue with gold, green, white and multicolour paisley-pattern decoration — a design exclusive to Basilur for this collection. The tin is sturdy and re-sealable, keeping the loose-leaf tea in good condition well after the first serving.
The caddy makes a considered gift. The tin is designed to be kept and reused, and the combination of the detailed paisley artwork and the quality of the tea inside gives it a presence that a standard packet cannot match. Basilur manufactures and exports from Sri Lanka, and the Sri Lanka Lion quality logo appears on the packaging alongside a green-leaf certification mark.
To brew, measure loose-leaf tea into an infuser or teapot, pour freshly boiled water over it, and allow it to steep to your preferred strength before removing the leaves. The zipper-lock inner pouch makes it straightforward to return unused tea to an airtight seal between brews.
