Basilur Raspberry and Rosehip is Ceylon black leaf tea mixed with real pieces of fruit and flower, from the Basilur Magic Fruits collection. The berry side of the name comes from two sources: natural raspberry fruit in the blend, and a raspberry flavour added to it. Rosehip arrives as natural rosehip shells rather than as a flavouring.
The printed ingredient list reads in full: pure Ceylon black leaf tea, natural raspberry and papaya fruits, natural rosehip shells, natural marigold and cornflower, and flavour raspberry. Basilur describes the brew as warmly aromatic and full of flavour, and suggests it either warm or iced.
The tin is shaped like a curved chest with a domed lid. Its cream and gold sides are painted with wild roses in full bloom, rosebuds and hips on one face and trailing raspberry canes heavy with fruit on the other, around a copper crest carrying the Basilur name, Magic Fruits in script and the words Ceylon Black Tea. A holographic Basilur seal runs over the lid.
Inside is 100g of loose tea in a pouch. The pack marks it as pure Ceylon tea produced and packed in Sri Lanka by Basilur Tea Export, and its base suggests one teaspoon per cup with water at 100°C for 3 to 5 minutes. Once opened, the pack advises moving the inner pouch into an airtight container, refrigerating it to keep it fresh and storing it somewhere cool and dry.
