Winter Tea is the cold-season blend in the Basilur Four Seasons range: Ceylon black leaf tea with natural cranberry fruits and a cranberry flavour. Basilur makes it from low grown OP, a long, wiry leaf, and the cranberries give it a strongly fragrant, fruity aroma.
Basilur describes the cup as a black tea with a slight cranberry sweetness set against the rich caramel taste of the leaf itself. It can be drunk warm or iced.
The caddy is a curved silver tin with a wave-shaped profile, embossed with the Four Seasons script, the Basilur name and the line Exclusive Premium Ceylon Tea. A monochrome photograph of a snowbound forest and a dark winding stream wraps around its sides, snowflakes drift across the metal, and a small medallion of red cranberries sits on the front and on the lid.
The tin holds 100g of loose black tea in an inner pouch, packed in Sri Lanka by Basilur Tea Export. The base advises transferring the pouch to an airtight container and refrigerating it to keep it fresh, and storing it in a cool, dry place.
