Ancient Nutra Natural Venivel is a herbal supplement containing 450 mg of Venivel powder (Coscinium fenestratum) per vegetable capsule, packed sixty capsules to a container. Known in Sinhala as වෙනිවෙල් and in Tamil as மர மஞ்சள் (Mara Manjal), the plant is also called Tree Turmeric in English — a name earned by its vivid yellow wood and sap, which arise from high concentrations of berberine, the alkaloid considered its principal active constituent. The product is registered with the Sri Lanka Department of Ayurveda and manufactured under FSSC 22000 food safety certification.
The Coscinium fenestratum plant is a large woody climbing liana native to Sri Lanka and the Western Ghats of India, thriving in dense tropical forest with fertile, moisture-rich soil. Its dried stem has been used for several centuries across Ayurveda, Sinhala traditional medicine, and related systems in South and Southeast Asia, where it appears in texts as daruharidra. Because the plant is classified as critically endangered in the wild, the sourcing of this supplement is notably considered: the capsules are made from Coscinium fenestratum grown in Sri Lanka by small-scale farmers, rather than harvested from wild populations.
Each capsule contains Venivel powder as its sole active ingredient; the only other material is vegetable cellulose, which forms the capsule shell itself. The product carries no animal-derived ingredients and is labelled 100% Natural, GMO Free, Dairy Free, Gluten Free, and Soy Free. It is a vegetarian capsule throughout.
The suggested usage is one capsule taken with or after a meal, up to three capsules per day. Capsules should be stored in a cool, dry place.
